Sometimes I think we chose the wrong band name

First there was that shit-tastic hardcore supergroup…now Richard Ashcroft thinks he’s ready for (another) comeback. It’s official: We’ve changed our name to Baboon 5.

Model UN vacation ‘010, cont. Jeff sets the World Record for Cheese Puff intake. Earlier in the day Warren requested that Jeff help him move furniture. Jeff said he was busy….this is what he was doing.

Hello Jeff Warren and Matt!  (Listed in order of who checks the Model Un Weblog most often)
Here I am in Cambodia and let me tell you… this country is insane!  Ever seen blade runner?  That is where I am.  Everyone is staring at me, every “Tuk Tuk” and moto driver thinks I am in desperate need of a ride somewhere.  My girlfriend had to go to work this morning so I went on a Jet Lagged drowsy dream walk through the extremely crowded smelly broken and dangerous streets of Phnom Penh.  I stumbled through the “Central Market” trying not to trip over merchants, babies, piles of clothing and mountains of “food” (everything looks like slices of kidney meat).  I have learned a few choice words in Khmer, the native language of the cambodian people.  The phrase which I have used with the highest frequency is “No,  i don’t want to buy that (what I think is) mud covered smashed screen computer from 1992”.
Actually I am really enjoying my time in Cambodia so far! The only problem that I have with the place is the constant bombardment from merchants (but who can blame them - Whitey usually has money, just not this whitey) and the low water pressure!
I’m kickin it here in Phnom Penh until Friday then Joanna and I will be heading either to Sihanoukville to rent motos or to Siem Riep to solve mysteries of the Ancients.  I’m going to do my best to stay on top of taking pictures of my adventures!  I hope you are all well back in the USA!
Keep up the hard work on the music guys!

Indeed, this is a sad day for Model UN.
I recently had to purchase a nice new computer for my job, because I need said computer for said job, and I need said job for having money.  But now, because the computer put me in debt, I’ve had to pay a terrible price. That’s right, my precious Mexican Jazzmaster just sold on eBay.  :(
The only good news is that now I won’t have to sell my super sweet Vox AC-30.  Either way, this was a great guitar, and it will be missed.  Pour out a forty or something.

7/11/10 marks a sad day for Model UN. Alex will be leaving for 6 weeks to SCUBA and CONSERVATE in Cambodia. This obviously means no shows or recording during this time. Our hope is that when he returns from his grand adventure that we will return to songwriting and (perhaps?) head back into the studio. If any good show opportunities arise those will be considered, as well.
In good news we have now written 6 new songs since the last LP. Warren, Matt and myself will continue working while Alex is gone.
I’m sure you will see mindless ramblings from Warren and I in the coming weeks and maybe some more….wait….food blogs? Weird.

A Slice of Life Brought to you by Model UN

    • A.W. Mills:  Can you contact people/book the room? I'm still working two jobs till Monday
    • Jeff:  you don't have to qualify your laziness
    • you can just say "hey, jeff...can you book the room because i'm lzy?"
    • A.W. Mills:  lol. I have done like 88% of the phone-call-making and organizing for this band for like 5 years. BEEEE OTCH
    • Jeff:  YOU ARE NOTHING WITHOUT ME
    • NOTHING
    • A.W. Mills:  oh man. You'd had to draw me a diagram or something to defend that position.
    • lol
    • Jeff:  Model UN w/o Jeff = NOTHING
    • mathematical equation BEOTCH
    • A.W. Mills:  So, (Model UN) / Nothing = -(Jeff)
    • Model UN divided by nothing = 0
    • so Jeff = 0
    • Jeff:  that's bad math
    • Model UN - Jeff = 0
    • so the only way Jeff = 0 is if Moden UN = 0
    • A.W. Mills:  lol
